R-E-S-P-E-C-T

What is wrong in today's society? When I was growing up my parents always told me to respect others. Has that gone out the window in today's world? Maybe it's just because of the profession I work in. I, myself treat people with respect and the way that I would want to be treated if I was in their place. Although I don't always get the respect back, I've come to just smile and go on.
I know times are different now and I have gotten older, but what happened to the life lessons that our parents drilled into our heads when we were young?

I totally hear you about the lack of respect in today's world. I'm a teacher and honestly, I wouldn't even dream of talking to my teachers the way some of my students do (although, they don't get away with not respecting me!) I guess it all goes back to how you are raised, but I can't help but think that society in general has some role in how we turn out!

oh man! the lack of respect in today's society boggles my mind.
i work with people everyday, and it's hard not to break down because of the disrespect that i face on a daily basis.
it's just a matter of how people were raised, i'm personally a very respectful person, i try to be, and i know i got it from my parents, and i'm sure that's how it's passed, or not passed!
