New Me in 2009

I'm issuing myself a challenge for 2009. I have done the whole new year resolution thing and never seem to stick with it. One main resolution has been to lose the extra weight I have gained from being stressed, that hasn't been accomplished yet. 2008 was a bad year for me and my diet derailed several times. I had a hard time sticking to it. Of course I have a stressful job on top of everything that doesn't help. If I don't change something I'm going to have health problems down the road. But I'm taking a different approach at the resolution for 2009 and issuing myself a challenge. I think if I look at it as a challenge maybe I can accomplish it. I'm going to give it a try. I'm going to eat better (more salads, fruit, veggies), no fast food, kick the soda habit, limit junk food and drink more water, exercise alot more (instead of when it's convient).
I also have some bad habits that I need to change and I figure since I am challenging to change myself in 2009 why not kick the bad habits and try to boost my self confidence, that some assholes in my past have destroyed (ex- boyfriend, and an ex shooting range instructor (a total ASS)). I also need to learn how to destress (checked my blood pressure and it was kinda high, my dad has high blood pressure so I don't need that) Note to self: Learn to RELAX !!!

I agree with eating better and drinking more water helping. I feel really heavy inside, sluggish and fatigued when I don't eat well.

GOod luck!

I agree also...a good site that I use is thedailyplate.com - although it think it's changed to livestrong.com now.....it was taken over by lance armstrong - at any rate - you create a profile - put how many pounds you want to lose per week and it will tell you how many calories you can have per day...you put in your food and it deducts the cals for you....and you can add in your excercise as well. It's pretty cool and it helps out - it's also a free site. Let me know if you have any questions - you can request me as a friend or whatever. good luck to ya!

Instead of starving yourself, it's better to eat healthy. So i think thats a pretty good resolution. good for you!

It's good to view those goals as challenges and not "resolutions." I think resolutions tend to be easy to break, because you already half-expect to break them. Good luck to you!!
